The Top 5 Ski Resorts with Michelin-Starred Restaurants Ranked
Luxury travellers seek the perfect blend of exceptional skiing and michelin star dining. Since the days of Ritz and Escoffier during the winter seasons many of the best fine dining from the Riviera have de-camped to the European Alps for the season.
In more modern times, ultra high net worth individuals travel with their own private chef amongst their private-staff entourage in the privacy of their ski chalet. But even a private chef gets one or two nights off every week. This leaves the principals of the house looking for a restaurant to dine out. So we look at the ski resorts with the biggest selection of luxury dining venues and aim to answer the question of, which ski resort has the most michelin star restaurants?
For the purposes of judging the resorts, we’ve included Michelin restaurants within a 30 minute drive of the resort. Then added up the michelin stars to give us a total and ranked in order.
1. Courchevel, France – Total 11 Michelin Stars
At the pinnacle of our list, Courchevel takes the crown as the ultimate destination for Michelin-starred dining within a ski resort. Among its standout venues are Cheval Blanc’s Le 1947, holding an impressive three Michelin stars under the culinary wizardry of Chef Yannick Alléno, and Le Chabichou and Le Sarkara, both two Michelin-starred restaurants in Courchevel celebrated for their exquisite cuisine.
And it’s not enough there. Courchevel also has two one-star restaurants, namely Sylvestre Wahid and Baumaniere 1850, and on top of that several restaurants that have a mention/is recommended by Michelin, even though they don’t have a star (yet anyway).
